Sheila is a proud native of Southwest Nebraska, born and raised on a farm & ranch just northwest of McCook, where her family raised corn, wheat & cattle. She was very active in the family farm and helped out with all aspects of it. In fact a few years after graduating from McCook High School, she married and settled on her grandparent’s farm just across the canyon from where she grew up, with her husband Travis Werkmeister. Sheila & Travis are currently farming & ranching today on her grandparent’s farm. They take great pride in being the 4th generation stewards of her families land and have spent many hours fixing, repairing and updating the farm. They also keep very busy raising their four daughters, Hayley, Erin, Riley & Kali and just recently added a son Ryker. Along with farming & ranching and raising a family Sheila drives a school bus for McCook Public Schools which she has done for over 20 years. She also clerks, cashiers and helps set up auctions for Old West Realty & Auction. She has an associate’s degree from McCook Community College and received her real estate license in February of 2017. Living all her life in southwest Nebraska, Sheila is very familiar with McCook and the surrounding communities not to mention the people that make up these communities.
